This is the only website I have and I hope you find it useful, a place
where you can find out about the three books I have published so
far, and discover suggestions for further reading. One of the
most rewarding aspects of being a writer is the response from
readers, who often tell me my books have given pleasure or
pause for thought. I myself am an avid reader, and
whether you are a supporter or a critic, I am more than
happy to welcome you all.
I was born in the Black Country, in the industrial Midlands
of England, as were my parents and my grandparents, and
my first book ‘The Chainmakers’ paid homage to that
background. During the war my parents moved to
Shropshire, and so I spent an idyllic childhood in that
beautiful county.
I have always written, but in my youth it was mainly articles and
short stories, to fit in with the demands of earning a living. My
working life was varied, but largely spent in Personnel management
(called Human Resources these days!) and I retired as Personnel and
Marketing Director of a substantial retail chain. It was only after
(early) retirement that I began to indulge of my love of history and
write novels . I also write short stories and dabble in poetry when I
can.
